About Us

 MISSION STATEMENT

We are dedicated to uniting and educating Foster Parents in Ohio in order to provide better care for Foster Children. We are also dedicated to the establishment of Foster Parents rights in Ohio and keeping good foster parents providing care for children.

Our Background

We have been involved with foster care in Ohio for the last six years. During that time, we have been associated with two different private foster placement agencies, worked with 7 different counties and had over 30 foster children in our home. We also adopted a sixteen year old teenager.

I have additional experience working as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, (CASA)  volunteer. In this position I worked with assigned foster children as their court representative to support what was in their best interest. This experience provided me with some special insight and knowledge about the entire foster system.  

 

We have been through many tough situations with the foster children, and even tougher times working with private placement agencies. There have been false allegations and rule violations filed against us which has affected us individually, our family, and the foster children. We have experienced the dark and hidden side of foster care that we never knew existed.

 

Over the years, as we have talked to other frustrated foster parents, the comments kept coming up that changes need to be made within the foster care system in Ohio in order to gain respect and dignity for foster parents. We are committed to seeing this change happen.
