Foster Parents United for ChangeSponsored by Foster Care ConsultantsWhy should Foster and Adoptive Parents UNITE?Foster Parents United for Change is a new organization formed in Ohio but is also gaining momentum across the country. Foster Parents United for Change is just beginning to grow in numbers. We are dedicated to offering support, guidance and strength to new, current and former foster and adoptive parents. Our goal is to build a strong, united group that can make change happen to benefit foster and adopted children and the parents who care for them. There are many reasons why foster parents and adoptive parents need to come together and join their voices. One foster parent alone CANNOT cause significant change, but many foster and adoptive parents working together as a united group CAN. Foster care is a dangerous job, and foster parents are often unaware of the danger that they are putting themselves and their families in. Allegations and rule violations are big part of what can damage foster and adoptive parents lives. False accusations can destroy people and their families. As a foster parent you are putting yourself in a very difficult and unprotected position. There are also corrupt private agencies and county agencies you must deal with and often foster and adoptive parents are left in the dark.
